On the way there, driving down Route 15 (just north of Gettysburg), there were fields of sunflowers as far as you could see on both sides of the highway. It was simply an amazing site. So, Zack screeched on the brakes, pulled to the shoulder, and out we ran into the fields of joy.
Here are some pictures from the spontaneous adventure. Zack and I thought the whole thing was magical (as did the 10 other cars stopped along the fields snapping photos), the kids were just happy to get out of their car seats and could have cared less about the flowers (especially when CJ found out she couldn't pick any), and I am sure that my sister Mary is going to freak out that we stopped on the highway ... and got out. Luckily, she doesn't read the blog. :-)
